Sun 22nd My susipicions were confirmed this morning when I found the Glossy Ibis flying over the Water-Ski Club and heading south at 8:28. I'd spent 20 minutes looking around the bay where there were 8 Little Grebes, 9 Moorhens, 2 Cormorants and about 40 Lapwings were on the jetties. I went back to the car to get a better vantage point on the motorway bridge but before I had moved off, I noticed a larger flock of Lapwings (total = 110) flying around that may have come up off the other side of the club. Whilst counting the swirling flock, the ibis came into view so I wasn't sure just where it had appeared from but it could have roosted in the willows on the Island or the Norton Bog reedbeds (GE). The gull roost held the 1cy Glaucous Gull, 4 1cy, 3cy, 2 adult) Caspian Gulls and 4 (4cy, 3 adult) Yellow-legged Gulls.
