Sun 7th

Totals for the Swag, Lagoon and north lake were 6 Mute Swans, 52 Canada Geese, 64 Tufted Ducks, 122 Coot, 15 Mallard, 8 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Grey Herons and a Common Tern. Several Ringlets were present and hundreds of damselflies were over Norton Bog Lagoon (GE).

Wed 10th

2 Common Terns, 70 Lesser Black-backs and 17 Black-headed Gulls were present and there was a good display of Common Spotted Orchids below the dam (GE).

At Stubber's Green there were 278 Canada Geese, 2 Greylags, 51 Lapwings, 2 Oystercatchers and 5 Grey Herons but no large gulls were present (GE).
Thurs 11th

This group of young foxes have been visiting a garden in the Brownhills West area (RJ)

Fri 12th

Belonopsis iridis; a species with very few records nationally (PT).

Sat 13th

A smart adult Mediterranean Gull was with Black-headed Gulls at Stubber's Green (GE).

Tues 16th The adult Mediterranean Gull was again present at Stubber's Green (GE).
Wed 17th

The Swag held 44 Tufted Ducks, 62 Coot, an immature Little Grebe, a Black-tailed Skimmer and many Common Blue Damselfles.

Norton Bog Lagoon held 20 Tufted Ducks, 13 Coot, 2 Grey Herons, several Reed Warblers and a Banded Demoiselle.

At the Balcony, Small and Essex Skippers were on the shoreline drinking from the wash caused by boats (GE).

 Fri 19th

At Stubber's Green there were 37 Lapwings, 2 Oystercatchers, 50 Lesser Black-backs and 300 Black-headed Gulls (GE).

Wed  24th

21 Tufted Ducks were on Norton Bog Lagoon along with 18 Mallard, 15 Coot and the Mute Swan family. A Black-tailed Skimmer was also present.

54 Tufted Ducks were on the Swag along with 45 Mallard, 80 Coot, 3+ Great Crested Grebes and the pair of Mute Swans were still sitting on the clearly unproductive nest.

The lake, north-west of a line from the Sailing Club to the Waterski Club held 66 Coot, 10 Great Crested Grebes (+ 2 juveniles), 9 Mallard, 300 large gulls and in Fly Bay there was a duck Tufted Duck with a downy young (GE).

 Thurs 25th

From the South Shore there were 57 Canada Geese, 77 Mallard, 29 Mute Swans, 21 Coot, 5 Great Crested Grebes, an adult Common Tern and 7 Lapwings (GE).

 Sat 27th

Norton Bog Lagoon held 53 Tufted Ducks, 11 Mallard, 4 Grey Herons, 14 Coot, a pair of Mute Swans with four cygnets, a pair of Great Crested Grebes with 2 young and 1-2 singing Reed Warblers.

Jeffrey's Swag held 19 Tufted Ducks, 2 Great Crested Grebes and a Grey Heron.

The north end of the lake held 9 Great Crested Grebes, 18 Lapwings and 2 Grey Herons (GE).

Sun 28th

Adult Yellow-legged Gull, flyover Ringed Plover and very distant Tern (Common or Arctic). Essex Skipper on the West Shore (IW,N).

Wed 31st At dusk there were 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Common Terns, 52 Canada Geese and the gull roost held 1350 Black-headed Gulls, including many juveniles, 1200 Lesser Black-backs and at least 3 adult Yellow-legged Gulls and a possible juvenile (GE).
