Sat 1st

The Glossy Ibis was photographed by Colin Price feeding about half a mile from Chasewater and was seen to roost at 16:30.
In the roost a 2cy Glaucous Gull and 2 Yellow-Legged Gulls in poor viewing.

A Willow Tit and Woodcock were present at Norton Bog. An adult Iceland Gull and a 2cy Glaucous Gull were in the roost and the Glossy Ibis roosted on island.
Tues 4th A 2cy Iceland Gull was observed at 4.15pm (GWe, CW) and the Glossy Ibis roosted on the Island (PW).
Weds 5th Very WET! 2cy Glaucous Gull, 2cy Iceland Gull, adult Caspian Gull ,adult Mediterranean Gull and 2 Yellow-legged Gulls (ad and 4cy) Also in roost pale 2cy Herring Gull. The proportion of immature gulls has increased with fewer adult birds: now 60:40 split.
Thurs 6th The Glossy Ibis was present at Brownhills (RBA).
Sat 8th At 16:15 there were around 3000 Black-headed Gulls sheltering from strong winds and rain on the Swag along with 3 adult Yellow-legged Gulls and 3 Goosanders (GE). The appalling weather conditions led to only the 2cy Iceland Gull being seen in the main roost.
Sun 9th The Glossy Ibis was seen flying west over the M6 Toll at 15:15 and the gull roost held 2 (2cy, adult) Iceland Gulls, the 2cy Glaucous Gull, 2 (3cy, adult) Caspian Gulls and 3 (4cy, 2 adult) Yellow-legged Gulls.
Mon 10th Adult Iceland Gull, juv Glaucous Gull and 2 pale Northern Herrings. An Oystercatcher flew north at 16:30.
Tues 11th The 2cy Glaucous Gull was present in the roost.
Thurs 13th A juvenile Great Northern Diver was present along with 2 (2cy, adult) Iceland Gulls and the 2cy Glaucous Gull (JA).
Fri 14th The Glossy Ibis flew towards the Island at 17:15 but was lost to view in torrential rain and it could not be confirmed if it roosted. The 2cy Glaucous Gull, 2cy Iceland Gull, 2 (2cy, 4cy) Caspian Gulls, a 2cy Glaucous x Herring Gull hybrid, 3 pale northern argentatus Herring Gulls and 2 adult Mediterranean Gulls were seen in the roost.
Sat 15th The juvenile Great Northern Diver was still present and the gull roost held 2 (2cy, adult) Iceland Gulls, 2cy Glaucous Gull, 4cy Caspian Gull and an adult Mediterranean Gull which was on the Swag at 15:50.
Sun 16th The WeBS count produced totals of 37 Mute Swans, 35 Canada Geese, 38 Mallard, 3 Wigeon, 13 Pochard, 195 Tufted Ducks, 51 Goldeneye, 9 Goosanders, 1 Cormorant, the juvenile Great Northern Diver, a Grey Heron, 28 Great Crested Grebes, 5 Little Grebes, 130 Coot, 3 Moorhens, 35 Snipe and the Glossy Ibis which arrived on the Island at 17:25, seemingly from the north. Perhaps the causeway would be the best location to observe the direction of its arrival and give a clue as to where it is feeding. 5 Common Gulls and an adult Yellow-legged Gull were on the Swag (GE) whilst 2 2cy Iceland Gulls, the 2cy Glaucous Gull, 2 (2cy, adult) Caspian Gulls, an adult Kittiwake, adult Yellow-legged Gull and a 2cy Glaucous x Herring Gull hybrid were recorded in the roost which was tightly packed towards the west of the lake before a mass disturbance put them to flight at 18:05.
Mon 17th The Glossy Ibis roosted on the Island at 17:15, the Great Northern Diver was present and the gull roost held the 2cy Iceland Gull, 2cy Glaucous Gull and adult Mediterranean Gull (JA).
Tues 18th 2 Red-crested Pochard were reported (SBi). The Great Northern Diver and an Oystercatcher were present (PW),the Glossy Ibis roosted at 17:30 and the 2cy Iceland Gull, 2cy Glaucous Gull, adult Mediterranean Gull and 4cy Caspian Gull were in the gull roost (JA).
Wed 19th The Glossy Ibis was seen leaving its roost at 07:42 and fed on the pool to the west of Chasewater along Brownhills Road (Willow Vale) till at least 08:35 (KC) but a Glossy Ibis was seen flying over Tittesworth Reservoir (North Staffs) at 12:35, could this have been 'our' bird finally leaving us?. The Great Northern Diver and Oystercatcher were present, the 2 Red-crested Pochard were on the Swag along with 2 Shovelers and a Kingfisher (GR). A Willow Tit was seen at the feeding station (PS).  The roost held the 2cy Glaucous Gull and 2 (2cy, adult) Iceland Gulls (JA).
Thurs 20th The Great Northern Diver was present and the gull roost held the 2cy Glaucous Gull, 2 (2cy, adult) Iceland Gulls, adult Yellow-legged Gull and an adult Mediterranean Gull.
Fri 21st  
Sat 22nd The 2cy Glaucous Gull, 2cy Iceland Gull and adult Mediterranean Gull were present along with the Great Northern Diver.
Sun 23rd The Great Northern Diver was present and the gull roost held the 2cy Glaucous Gull, 2cy Iceland Gull and the adult Mediterranean Gull.
Mon 24th Juv Iceland Gull, juv Glaucous Gull, adult Mediterranean Gull
Fri 28th  Juv Glaucous Gull, 2 adult Mediterranean Gulls and 1w Caspian Gull. The Great Northern Diver was still present.
