Wed 2nd 53 Tufted Ducks and 43 Mallard were on the Swag (GE).
Thur 3rd There is  a good display of Round-leaved Sundew along an 18m stretch of the overflow channel beyond the Nine-foot. Ringlets are abundant along with several Large Skippers and a Meadow Brown. 3 3cy Yellow-legged Gulls were present (GE).

Jay (CS)  Common Lizard GT
Tues 8th Meadow Pipits and Grasshopper Warbler photographed on the North Heath (DL)
Wed 9th A slightly early WeBS count produced 37 Mute Swans (plus broods of 7 cygnets on the lagoon and 6 on the canal), 62 Canada Geese, 124 Mallard, 70 Tufted Ducks, 178 Coot, a Moorhen, 24 Great Crested Grebes, a Grey Heron and 15 Lapwings. Essex Skippers, Small Skippers and Large Skippers were all evident (GE).

Thurs 24th A young grass snake was seen at Norton Bog
Tue 29th The Ascomycete list has been updated (PT) Peter has also located 2 Discomycete species located on the stems of Typha latifolia back in June. "One of these species, Cistella typhae, has only one previous British FRDBI record, from Scotland. The fruit bodies are quite small, but I have attached an image, which was magnified five times".

Weds 30th  Banded Demoiselle Image Ian james
