 Fri 1st Willow Tits have been heard singing from 5 areas so far this spring (PJ).
Sat 2nd An adult Little Gull and 2cy Caspian Gull were present during the evening and the Ring-necked Parakeet was seen at 19:20.
Sun 3rd 25 Chiffchaffs and 2 Willow Warblers were in song, a Willow Tit was below the dam and a Raven and Stock Dove were also noted (PJ).
On Cuckoo Bank there was a pair of Ravens, a pair of Red-legged Partridges, at least 8 pairs of Lapwings and at Biddulph's Pool there was a Nuthatch (PJ).
Mon 4th A quieter day but still a constant passage of hirundines and Meadow Pipits during the day and there were at least 4 Willow Warblers in the Swag and Norton Bog area. A 3cy Yellow-legged Gull roosted.
On Cuckoo Bank there were 11 Golden Plovers, a Willow Warbler and a Wheatear (GHa).
Tues 5th A Bearded Tit was heard and briefly seen at the western end of the Norton Bog reedbed (PJ). A Little Ringed Plover and 4 Greylag Geese were also present.
Wed 6th Three Little Ringed Plovers were on the Sailing Shore.
Thurs 7th 5 Goosanders were present and a Willow Tit was at Norton Bog.
Fri 8th 24 Willow Warblers, 15 Chiffchaffs and 100 Sand Martins were present during the morning (ICW). 72 Tufted Ducks and 4 Goldeneye were present (GE).
On Cuckoo Bank there were 6 Wheatears, a Grey Partridge and a Raven (PJ).
Sat 9th On Cuckoo Bank there were 3 Wheatears, a male Redstart, Curlew and a female Merlin.
Sun 10th A Common Sandpiper and Kingfisher were present during the morning.
On Cuckoo Bank there were 2 Grey Partridges, 5 Red-legged Partridges, a Curlew, a Yellow Wagtail, 5 Wheatears, 25 Stock Doves and a Common Lizard. A Willow Tit was in Eights Wood (PJ, IW, N).
Mon 11th
3cy Little Gull Adult Little Gull Adult Little Gull

12 Little Gulls and an Arctic Tern were present until 15:50 when they appeared to become alarmed by a helicopter and eventually disappeared to the north-east. Two Shelducks flew east and 220 Sand Martins and several Swallows were over the lake (GE). A White Wagtail was by the Sailing Club (VT, JT), a Garden Warbler in the west shore wood and a Cuckoo was on the north heath before flying north-east.
At least 9 Little Gulls were also seen at Stubber's Green and 13 at Ryder's Mere during the afternoon.
Tues 12th
At 09:05 an Avocet was swimming on the Lake near the Island but within seconds of being seen it flew and probably departed to the west. A Brambling was on the South Shore, a Little Ringed Plover flew west and an Oystercatcher was trying to settle. Over 60 Sand Martins, 20 Swallows, up to 10 House Martins, 8 Blackcaps, 20 Willow Warblers, 18 Chiffchaffs, 6 Siskins, 5 Buzzards and 2 Willow Tits were also seen. The WeBS count produced 69 Mute Swans, 6 Canada Geese, 59 Mallard, 64 Tufted Ducks, 1 Goldeneye, 3 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Grebe, 20 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Moorhens and 118 Coot (GE). 2 Wheatears were on the North Heath (DL). During the evening there was a Common Sandpiper and a Little Ringed Plover.
On Cuckoo Bank there were 3 Wheatears and a male Redstart (EO).

Wed 13th During the evening there was a Short-eared Owl, a Stonechat and a Whitethroat (PJ).
Thurs 14th The Ring-necked Parakeet was seen at 19:30.
A Grasshopper Warbler was reported from Cuckoo Bank.
Fri 15th A Common Tern and an Arctic Tern were present along with 3 Goldeneye, a Whitethroat, a pair of Ravens and a Willow Tit was singing at Norton Bog (PJ). The Ring-necked Parakeet was seen at 19:00.
On Cuckoo Bank there were 2 Wheatears and a pair of Red-legged Partridges (PJ).
Sat 16th A Cuckoo was present during the morning and a Peregrine during the afternoon (GR). An Arctic Tern, Common Sandpiper, Lesser Whitethroat and Oystercatcher were also present.
Sun 17th A Wheatear was on the North Heath (PJ) and 3 Yellow Wagtails and 2 Common Sandpipers were present during the early morning.
On Cuckoo Bank there were 3 Yellowhammers, a Red-legged Partridge and a Tawny Owl was calling in Eights Wood (PJ) and during the very early morning at least 7 Grasshopper Warblers were reeling (DO).
Mon 18th A Cuckoo and a pair of Wheatears were on the North Heath, a Garden Warbler was in the west shore wood and a Sedge Warbler was at the Swag. Willow Tits were present at four locations (PJ). During the evening a Common Tern and 2 Common Sandpipers were also present.
A Grass Snake was seen just north of Chasewater.
Tues 19th 3 Common Sandpipers, a Common Tern, a pair of Wheatears and a singing Willow Tit were present. A Stock Dove and 8 Jackdaws were with the cattle in Highfield Farm (PJ).
Wed 20th A Red Kite was seen over the Sailing Club (RD).
On No Man's Bank there was a female Redstart (PJ).
On Cuckoo Bank there was a Swift, Cuckoo and 2 Grasshopper Warblers were reeling (PJ).
Thurs 21st A Raven and Garden Warbler were noted and Willow Tits were present at four locations (PJ). A group of children were canoeing on the Swag today (JGH): it has been confirmed that boating of any kind is not allowed on the Swag and this incident is being investigated by Rob Davies, the head Ranger (GE).
Fri 22nd Two Reed Warblers were at Norton Bog. A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling on the North Heath during the evening (PJ).
Sat 23rd Two Little Ringed Plovers and 2 Common Terns were present.
A male Whinchat was on Cuckoo Bank (MY).
Sun 24th A Grasshopper Warbler was on Norton Bog hill (PJ).
On Cuckoo Bank there were at least 2 Lesser Whitethroats, a male Redstart, a Grasshopper Warbler, Cuckoo, Wheatear and a pair of Ravens ().
Mon 25th An Arctic Tern, 2 Common Terns, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, a Common Sandpiper, an Oystercatcher and a Stoat being mobbed by Magpies were seen during the morning. Four Common Sandpipers were on the dam during the afternoon. Five Common Sandpipers, 2 Dunlin and 2 Little Ringed Plovers passed through during the early evening (PJ) and 2 Common Terns and an additional 2 Dunlin were present later.
Tues 26th 10 Common Sandpipers and 2 Common Terns were present (PJ).
Wed 27th Four Common Sandpipers, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Common Terns and a Swift were present (PW) and later in the evening a flock of 40-50 Black-tailed Godwits flew north over Chase Terrace after presumably passing over Chasewater.
Thurs 28th A Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Common Sandpipers, 3 Common Terns and over 100 Swifts were present during the morning; the godwit was showing well by the Sailing Club during the early afternoon (PW).

Fri 29th A Hobby, Cuckoo, 4 Common Sandpipers, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, Grasshopper Warbler, Whitethroats and 3-4 Swifts were present (PW). 6 Common Terns were also present.
At Norton Bog there was a very good candidate for an acredula Willow Warbler feeding low down on the edge of the bog pool along the main track leading from the Burtwood Road car park. 2-3 Reed Warblers and a Cuckoo were also present (GE).

Sat 30th A male Whinchat, Wheatear and Grasshopper Warbler were on the North Heath (MWo). There was an influx of House Martins during the morning when there were 2 Little Ringed Plovers at least 15 Common Sandpipers with at least 8 remaining into the evening when 10 Common Terns were also present.
